Thanks to a colour meter you can measure the roast degree of your coffee. This way you can ensure that your roasts always have the same roasting degree. In addition, you can examine coffees from other roasters and orientate yourself on their roast degree. With other roasters you can talk to them about the colour of your roast using a defined scale and you don't have to follow definitions like light, medium, dark, etc., which each one defines differently.

The Tonino colour meter for coffee

The Tonino colorimeter is developed and produced in Germany by the same team that develops the Artisan roasting software. With this small, lightweight, easy to use and relatively inexpensive colorimeter, the developers make such a measuring device available to a large circle of roasters / home roasters. The Tonino Colorimeter is therefore well proven and widely used by professional roasters as well as home roasters.

Mode of operation

Preparation of the samples:

• Pour finely ground coffee into espresso sieve (grind finer than espresso). 
• Press coffee grounds firmly. Apply maximum pressure. If necessary, press several times
• Important: carry out these steps in exactly the same way for each sample

Switch on Tonino by lifting:
