Would you like to meet and talk with other home roasters? Do you have questions that interest you or your own experiences that you would like to share with others?
In this online discussion moderated by Frank Koss, Philipp from Coffee Makers and Ingo from Roast Rebels will be available to answer all your questions about roasting. However, it will be a relaxed exchange in which everyone will have the opportunity to contribute.

This open talk will cover all topics related to coffee roasting, such as questions about roasting profiles, green coffees, flavour profiles or technical questions. You are invited to actively participate with your own questions or answers, tips and experiences, or you can just watch - as it suits you. Frank Koss runs a nano roastery in Riehen and moderates the round, Philipp and Ingo are experts in the talk and can cover many topics with their experience when it comes to coffee roasting.
Philipp Schallberger:
Philipp is co-managing director and shareholder of Kaffeemacher GmbH. The two-time Swiss Barista Champion manages the roastery of Kaffeemacher:innen and is responsible for green coffee purchasing and coffee projects at origin. Philipp is a licensed Q-grader and has been a judge at national and world championships for many years.
Philipp scrutinises existing processes and ideas in the coffee sector and also uses his large network for this. As a result, he has a very broad knowledge base in both theory and practice and is therefore in demand as a consultant, for input lectures and key-notes on coffee roasting. Ingo Albrecht:
Ingo is the founder and managing director of Roast Rebels and has been an enthusiastic home roaster for years. In addition to his roasting training at the SCA, he regularly attends further training courses with roasters such as Scott Rao, Rob Hoos and Morten Münchow and is in close contact with various authors in order to keep up to date with the latest developments in roasting.
Ingo has a good overview of the home roaster scene and is in close contact with most of the manufacturers of small roasting machines (up to 1kg) as well as many of the coffee producers from whom Roast Rebels obtains its green coffees. Through the close exchange with customers, he knows many of the questions that home roasters have. Frank Koss:
Frank is the founder of Code Brew Beans, a nano roastery in Riehen. A passionate barista and roaster, he serves speciality coffee in pop-up restaurants and markets and offers his special roasts. Frank has a lot of experience with espresso and coffee machines, as a barista and with the setup of his roastery he can give practical tips.
