The coffee comes from the region Cajamarca in the northwest of Peru and is organically grown there. The CASIL cooperative was founded in 1966 and now has around 240 members. The farms where the coffee is grown are located at 1,600 to 1,800 meters above sea level. The altitude, temperatures between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius, and the clayey soils provide ideal natural conditions for the cultivation of robust and very balanced coffees.
By joining the cooperative, farmers gain access to knowledge, infrastructure, and equipment to produce ecological and high-quality coffee, enabling them to achieve higher prices for their coffee.

Wenig Säure und ein ausgewogener Geschmack bei medium roasts. Dunkel geröstet war er nicht so lecker und hat auch stark geölt. 10 Tage nach dem rösten war er perfekt

Bisher mein Favorit

Der Peruaner ist bisher mein Favorit. In der Zwischenzeit habe ich viele Sorten durchprobiert, aber dieser Kaffee bleibt für Espresso erstmal in der Mühle. Das Röstprofil für den Gene Café liefert super Ergebnisse.
