The coffee is a blend of green coffees from three regions of Guatemala: New Oriente, Cobán and Huehuetenango. They come from an altitude of about 1,500 meters and therefore have the highest quality designation "Strictly Hard Bean". The soil is volcanic - combined with the climate in the region and the high standards in coffee processing, this results in a high-quality coffee that is very popular among connoisseurs for its balanced taste.

The coffee comes from several small-scale farms of the Fedeconcagua cooperative. This was one of the first cooperatives worldwide to produce Fair Trade certified coffee. Fedecocagua helps its members improve the quality and production of coffee and achieve higher prices, enabling farming families to earn more money and improve their living conditions. They also advocate for the rights of small-scale farmers and support education, healthcare, and opportunities for the women of mostly Maya families.

Recommendation for Preparation

Guatemala SHB can be enjoyed as a single variety (Single Origin) or as a blend with Arabica (e.g. Brazil Bourbon) or Robusta (e.g. India Parchment) to slightly reduce the acidity. Perfect as a Cappuccino - the nutty notes stand out strongly when combined with milk. Very pleasant and full-bodied when prepared in a French Press as well as in a Bialetti Espresso Maker - each with a fresh and invigorating citrus note.

Preparation Recommendation

Guatemala SHB can be enjoyed as a single origin or blended with Arabica (e.g. Brazil Bourbon) or Robusta (e.g. India Parchment) to reduce acidity. Perfect for Cappuccino - the nutty notes shine through with milk. Very pleasant and full-bodied when brewed in a French Press or a Bialetti Moka Pot - each with a fresh and invigorating citrus note.

Great Cofee

Ordered 5 beans so far and this one is the one I love like (LOVE!) the most. Beside being just tasty, Its a very rare case where I enjoy a bean both for very light v60 roast where the notes are unique and clear as well as on a medium or even Vienna for my espresso. strongly recommended.
