Privacy Policy

1) Introduction and Contact Details of the Controller

1.1 We are pleased that you are visiting our website and thank you for your interest. In the following, we inform you about the handling of your personal data when using our website. Personal data is all data by which you can be personally identified.

1.2 The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) is Roast Rebels GmbH, Zugerstrasse 7a, 8915 Hausen am Albis, Switzerland, Tel.: +41 76 261 97 17, Email: team@roastrebels.com. The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data.

2) Data Collection When Visiting Our Website

2.1 When using our website for purely informational purposes, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect data that your browser transmits to our server (so-called "server log files"). When you visit our website, we collect the following data that is technically necessary for us to display the website to you:

  • The website visited
  • Date and time of access
  • Amount of data sent in bytes
  • Source/referral from which you reached the page
  • Browser used
  • Operating system used
  • IP address used (where applicable: in anonymised form)

The data is not passed on or used in any other way. We reserve the right, however, to review the server log files retrospectively if there are concrete indications of unlawful use.

2.2 For security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal data and other confidential content (e.g. orders or enquiries to the controller), this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the string "https://" and the padlock symbol in your browser bar.

3) Hosting & Content Delivery Network

For hosting our website and displaying page content, we use a provider that performs its services itself or through selected sub-contractors exclusively on servers within the European Union.

All data collected on our website is processed on these servers.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider that protects the data of our website visitors and prohibits disclosure to third parties.

4) Cookies

To make visiting our website attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use cookies — small text files that are stored on your device. Some of these cookies are automatically deleted after you close your browser (so-called "session cookies"), while others remain on your device for longer and allow page settings to be saved (so-called "persistent cookies"). In the latter case, you can find the storage duration in the overview of your web browser's cookie settings.

Where individual cookies we use also process personal data, this is done either for the performance of the contract, on the basis of consent given, or in accordance with our legitimate interests in the best possible functionality of the website and a customer-friendly and effective design of the page visit.

You can set your browser to inform you about the placing of cookies and to decide individually whether to accept them, or to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general.

Please note that the functionality of our website may be restricted if cookies are not accepted.

5) Contact

5.1 When you contact us (e.g. via contact form or email), personal data is collected. Which data is collected in the case of a contact form is apparent from the respective contact form. This data is stored and used exclusively for the purpose of responding to your enquiry or for contacting you and the associated technical administration. Your data will be deleted once your enquiry has been fully processed. This is the case when it can be inferred from the circumstances that the matter in question has been conclusively resolved and provided there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary.

5.2 WhatsApp Business

You have the option of contacting us via the WhatsApp messaging service of WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland. For this purpose we use the so-called "Business version" of WhatsApp.

If you contact us via WhatsApp in connection with a specific transaction (for example an order you have placed), we store and use the mobile phone number you use on WhatsApp and — if provided — your first and last name to process and respond to your enquiry. On the same legal basis, we may ask you via WhatsApp to provide further data (order number, customer number, address or email address) in order to be able to assign your enquiry to a specific process.

If you use our WhatsApp contact for general enquiries (e.g. about our range of services, availability or our website), we store and use the mobile phone number you use on WhatsApp and — if provided — your first and last name on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing the requested information efficiently and promptly.

Your data is always used solely to respond to your enquiry via WhatsApp. It is not passed on to third parties.

Please note that WhatsApp Business accesses the address book of the mobile device we use for this purpose and automatically transmits phone numbers stored in the address book to a server of the parent company Meta Platforms Inc. in the USA. For the operation of our WhatsApp Business account, we use a mobile device in whose address book only the WhatsApp contact details of those users who have also contacted us via WhatsApp are stored.

This ensures that every person whose WhatsApp contact details are stored in our address book has already consented, upon first use of the app on their device by accepting the WhatsApp terms of use, to the transmission of their WhatsApp phone number from the address books of their chat contacts. The transmission of data of users who do not use WhatsApp and/or have not contacted us via WhatsApp is thereby excluded.

For information on the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of your data by WhatsApp, as well as your related rights and settings options for protecting your privacy, please refer to WhatsApp's privacy policy: https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/?eea=1#privacy-policy

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider that protects the data of our website visitors and prohibits disclosure to third parties.

In the context of the processing activities described above, data may be transferred to servers of Meta Platforms Inc. in the USA.

6) Data Processing When Opening a Customer Account and for Contract Processing

Personal data is collected and processed when you provide it to us for the performance of a contract or when opening a customer account. Which data is collected is apparent from the respective input forms. Deletion of your customer account is possible at any time and can be requested by sending a message to our address. We store and use the data you provide for contract processing. After deletion of your customer account, your data will be blocked in compliance with tax and commercial law retention periods and deleted after expiry of these periods, unless we can demonstrate an overriding interest in continued processing within the meaning of Art. 31 para. 2 FADP or a legal justification.

7) Use of Your Data for Direct Marketing

7.1 Subscription to Our Email Newsletter

By providing your personal data, you agree that we may use this data to send you newsletters.

We store the IP address assigned by your internet service provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration in order to be able to trace any possible misuse of your email address at a later point in time. The data collected by us when registering for the newsletter is used exclusively for the purpose of promotional contact by way of the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link provided for this purpose in the newsletter or by sending us a corresponding message. After unsubscription, your email address will be deleted from our newsletter distribution list without delay, unless we can demonstrate an overriding interest in continued processing within the meaning of Art. 31 para. 2 FADP or a legal justification.

7.2 Sending the Email Newsletter to Existing Customers

If you have provided us with your email address when purchasing goods or services, we reserve the right to send you regular offers for similar goods or services from our range by email. We do not need to obtain separate consent from you for this. The data processing is carried out solely on the basis of our legitimate interest in personalised direct marketing. If you have initially objected to the use of your email address for this purpose, we will not send you any emails. You are entitled to object to the use of your email address for the aforementioned advertising purpose at any time with effect for the future by sending a message to the controller named at the beginning. You will only incur transmission costs at the basic rates for this. After receipt of your objection, the use of your email address for advertising purposes will be discontinued immediately.

7.3 MailChimp

Our email newsletters are sent via the following provider: The Rocket Science Group, LLC d/b/a MailChimp, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA

On the basis of our legitimate interest in effective and user-friendly newsletter marketing, we pass on the data you provided when registering for the newsletter to this provider so that they can send the newsletter on our behalf.

Subject to your express consent, the provider also carries out a statistical evaluation of the success of newsletter campaigns by means of web beacons or tracking pixels in the emails sent, which can measure open rates and specific interactions with the newsletter content. Device information (e.g. time of access, IP address, browser type and operating system) is also collected and evaluated in this process, but is not merged with other data sets.

You can revoke your consent to newsletter tracking at any time with effect for the future.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider that ensures the protection of our website visitors' data and prohibits unauthorised disclosure to third parties.

For the transfer of data to the USA, the provider relies on standard contractual clauses of the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), which are intended to ensure compliance with the Swiss level of data protection.

8) Data Processing for Order Fulfilment

8.1 The personal data collected by us will be passed on to the transport company commissioned with the delivery as part of contract processing, insofar as this is necessary for the delivery of the goods. Your payment data will be passed on to the commissioned credit institution as part of payment processing, insofar as this is necessary for payment processing. Where specific service providers are used for order processing, we will inform you about this explicitly below.

8.2 Use of Payment Service Providers

- Apple Pay
If you choose the payment method "Apple Pay" of Apple Distribution International (Apple), Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland, payment is processed via the "Apple Pay" function of your device running iOS, watchOS or macOS by charging a payment card stored in "Apple Pay". Apple Pay uses security features built into the hardware and software of your device to protect your transactions. A payment release therefore requires the entry of a code previously set by you and verification using the "Face ID" or "Touch ID" function of your device.
For the purpose of payment processing, the information you provided during the order process together with information about your order is transmitted to Apple in encrypted form. Apple then re-encrypts this data with a developer-specific key before the data is transmitted to the payment service provider of the payment card stored in Apple Pay for the purpose of carrying out the payment. The encryption ensures that only the website through which the purchase was made can access the payment data. After the payment has been made, Apple sends your device account number and a transaction-specific dynamic security code to the originating website to confirm the success of the payment.
Where personal data is processed in connection with the transmissions described, the processing is carried out exclusively for the purpose of payment processing.
Apple retains anonymised transaction data, including the approximate purchase amount, the approximate date and time, and whether the transaction was completed successfully. Anonymisation completely excludes any personal reference. Apple uses the anonymised data to improve Apple Pay and other Apple products and services.
If you use Apple Pay on iPhone or Apple Watch to complete a purchase made via Safari on Mac, the Mac and the authorisation device communicate via an encrypted channel on Apple's servers. Apple does not process or store any of this information in a format that can be used to identify you. You can disable the ability to use Apple Pay on your Mac in your iPhone settings. Go to "Wallet & Apple Pay" and disable "Allow Payments on Mac".
Further information on data protection with Apple Pay can be found at: https://support.apple.com/de-de/HT203027
- Google Pay

If you choose the payment method "Google Pay" of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"), payment is processed via the "Google Pay" application on your mobile device running at least Android 4.4 ("KitKat") and equipped with an NFC function, by charging a payment card stored with Google Pay or a verified payment system stored there (e.g. PayPal). For the release of a payment via Google Pay in excess of EUR 25.00, prior unlocking of your mobile device by the respective verification measure you have set up (such as facial recognition, password, fingerprint or pattern) is required.

For the purpose of payment processing, the information you provided during the order process together with information about your order is transmitted to Google. Google then transmits your payment information stored in Google Pay to the originating website in the form of a one-time transaction number with which the completed payment is verified. This transaction number does not contain any information about the actual payment data of the payment method stored with Google Pay, but is created and transmitted as a one-time valid numeric token. For all transactions via Google Pay, Google acts solely as an intermediary for processing the payment. The transaction is carried out exclusively between the user and the originating website by charging the payment method stored with Google Pay.

Where personal data is processed in connection with the transmissions described, the processing is carried out exclusively for the purpose of payment processing.

Google reserves the right to collect, store and evaluate certain transaction-specific information for each transaction made via Google Pay. This includes the date, time and amount of the transaction, the merchant location and description, a description of the goods or services purchased provided by the merchant, photos you have attached to the transaction, the name and email address of the seller and buyer or sender and recipient, the payment method used, your description of the reason for the transaction and, where applicable, the offer associated with the transaction.

According to Google, this processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of its legitimate interest in proper accounting, verification of transaction data and the optimisation and maintenance of the Google Pay service.

Google also reserves the right to merge the processed transaction data with further information collected and stored by Google in the course of using other Google services.

The Google Pay terms of use can be found here:

Address data, among other things, is factored into the calculation of score values. Klarna uses the information received about the statistical probability of payment default for a balanced decision on whether to establish, carry out or terminate the contractual relationship.
You may revoke your consent at any time by sending a message to the controller or to Klarna. However, Klarna may remain entitled to process your personal data insofar as this is necessary for the contractual payment processing.
Your personal data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection regulations. Further information on how Klarna handles personal data can be found in Klarna's privacy policy at https://cdn.klarna.com/1.0/shared/content/legal/terms/0/de_ch/privacy_bp
- PayPal
When paying via PayPal, credit card via PayPal, direct debit via PayPal or — if offered — "purchase on account" or "instalment payment" via PayPal, we pass on your payment data to PayPal (Europe) S.a.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg (hereinafter "PayPal") as part of payment processing. The disclosure is made only to the extent necessary for payment processing.
PayPal reserves the right to carry out a credit check for the payment methods credit card via PayPal, direct debit via PayPal or — if offered — "purchase on account" or "instalment payment" via PayPal. For this purpose, your payment data may be passed on to credit agencies on the basis of PayPal's legitimate interest in determining your creditworthiness. The result of the credit check regarding the statistical probability of payment default is used by PayPal for the purpose of deciding whether to provide the respective payment method. The credit report may contain probability values (so-called score values). Where score values are incorporated into the result of the credit report, they are based on a scientifically recognised mathematical-statistical procedure. Address data, among other things, is factored into the calculation of score values. For further data protection information, including details of the credit agencies used, please refer to PayPal's privacy policy: https://www.paypal.com/de/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full

10) Use of Social Media: Videos

10.1 Use of Vimeo Videos

Our website incorporates plugins of the video portal Vimeo of Vimeo.com, Inc., 330 West 34th Street, 10th Floor, New York, NY 10001, USA. When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Vimeo's servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Vimeo to your browser and embedded in the page. Through this integration, Vimeo receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Vimeo account or are not currently logged in to Vimeo. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Vimeo server in the USA and stored there.

If you are logged in to Vimeo, Vimeo can directly associate your visit to our website with your Vimeo account. If you interact with the plugins (such as clicking the start button of a video), this information is also transmitted directly to a Vimeo server and stored there.

If you do not want Vimeo to associate the data collected via our website directly with your Vimeo account, you must log out of Vimeo before visiting our website.

For information on the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of your data by Vimeo, as well as your related rights and settings options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Vimeo's privacy policy: https://vimeo.com/privacy

Videos from Vimeo embedded on our site automatically integrate the tracking tool Google Analytics of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland. This is Vimeo's own tracking, to which we have no access and which cannot be influenced by us. Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies" for tracking — text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server; this may also involve a transfer to the servers of Google LLC in the USA.

10.2 Use of YouTube Videos

This website uses YouTube's embedding function to display and play videos from the provider "YouTube", which belongs to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google").

The extended data protection mode is used here, which according to the provider only initiates the storage of user information when the video(s) are played back. If the playback of embedded YouTube videos is started, the provider "YouTube" uses cookies to collect information about user behaviour. According to information from "YouTube", these serve, among other things, to record video statistics, improve user-friendliness and prevent abusive behaviour. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be directly associated with your account when you click on a video. If you do not want the association with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and evaluates them. You have the right to object to the creation of these usage profiles, and to exercise this right you must contact YouTube. The use of YouTube may also involve a transfer of personal data to the servers of Google LLC in the USA.
Independently of the playback of embedded videos, a connection to the Google network is established each time this website is accessed, which may trigger further data processing operations beyond our control.

Further information on data protection at "YouTube" can be found in the provider's privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy

11) Online Marketing

Use of Google Ads Conversion Tracking

This website uses the online advertising programme "Google Ads" and, within the framework of Google Ads, the conversion tracking of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"). We use Google Ads to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites with the help of advertising media (so-called Google Adwords). We can determine, in relation to the data of the advertising campaigns, how successful the individual advertising measures are. We pursue the interest of showing you advertising that is relevant to you, making our website more interesting for you and achieving a fair calculation of advertising costs.

The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks on a Google Ads advertisement. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer system. These cookies generally lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognise that the user clicked on the advertisement and was redirected to this page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked across the websites of Google Ads customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for Google Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their advertisement and were redirected to a page equipped with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can block this use by deactivating the Google conversion tracking cookie via your internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. The use of Google Ads may also involve a transfer of personal data to the servers of Google LLC in the USA.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider that ensures the protection of our website visitors' data and prohibits unauthorised disclosure to third parties.

Further information on Google's privacy policy can be found at: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

You can permanently deactivate cookies for advertising preferences by preventing them through a corresponding setting in your browser software or by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link:
https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin?hl=de

Please note that certain functions of this website may not be available or may only be available to a limited extent if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

12) Web Analytics Services

12.1 Google Analytics 4

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"), which enables an analysis of your use of our website.

By default, when visiting the website, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies that are stored as small text elements on your device and collect certain information. The scope of this information also includes your IP address, which is however shortened by Google by the last digits in order to exclude direct personal identification.

The information is transmitted to Google's servers and further processed there. Transfers to Google LLC based in the USA are also possible.

Google uses the information collected on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities for us and to provide further services related to website usage and internet usage. The shortened IP address transmitted by your browser within the framework of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. The data collected within the framework of Google Analytics 4 is stored for a period of two months and then deleted.

All processing described above, in particular the setting of cookies on the device used, only takes place if you have given us your express consent to do so.
Without your consent, Google Analytics 4 will not be used during your visit to the site. You can revoke your given consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your right of revocation, please deactivate this service via the "Cookie Consent Tool" provided on the website.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google that ensures the protection of our website visitors' data and prohibits unauthorised disclosure to third parties.

Further legal information on Google Analytics 4 can be found at https://business.safety.google/intl/de/privacy/ and at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de and at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Demographic Characteristics
Google Analytics 4 uses the special "demographic characteristics" function and can thereby create statistics that make statements about the age, gender and interests of website visitors. This is done through the analysis of advertising and information from third-party providers. This allows target groups to be identified for marketing activities. However, the data collected cannot be attributed to any specific person and is deleted after being stored for a period of two months.

Google Signals
As an extension to Google Analytics 4, Google Signals may be used on this website to create cross-device reports. If you have activated personalised ads and linked your devices to your Google account, Google can — subject to your consent to the use of Google Analytics — analyse your usage behaviour across devices and create database models, including for cross-device conversions. We do not receive any personal data from Google, only statistics. If you wish to stop cross-device analysis, you can deactivate the "Personalised advertising" function in your Google account settings. Follow the instructions on this page: https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922?hl=de Further information on Google Signals can be found at: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7532985?hl=de

User IDs
As an extension to Google Analytics 4, the "User IDs" function may be used on this website. If you have consented to the use of Google Analytics 4, created an account on this website and log in to this account on various devices, your activities, including conversions, can be analysed across devices.

For the transfer of data to the USA, the provider relies on standard contractual clauses of the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), which are intended to ensure compliance with the Swiss level of data protection.

12.2 Hotjar (Hotjar Ltd.)

This website uses the web analytics service Hotjar of Hotjar Ltd. Hotjar Ltd. is a European company based in Malta (Hotjar Ltd, Level 2, St Julians Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julians STJ 1000, Malta).

This tool can be used to track movements on the websites where Hotjar is used (so-called heatmaps). For example, it is possible to see how far users scroll and which buttons users click and how often. Furthermore, the tool also makes it possible to obtain feedback directly from website users. In this way, we gain valuable information to make our websites even faster and more user-friendly. When using this tool, we pay particular attention to the protection of your personal data. We can only track which buttons you click and how far you scroll. Areas of the websites where personal data of you or third parties is displayed are automatically hidden by Hotjar and are therefore not traceable at any time.

Hotjar offers every user the option of preventing the use of the Hotjar tool by means of a "Do Not Track header", so that no data about the visit to the respective website is recorded. This is a setting supported by all common browsers in current versions. To do this, your browser sends a request to Hotjar with the instruction to deactivate the tracking of the respective user.

If you use our website with different browsers/computers, you must set up the "Do Not Track header" separately for each of these browsers/computers.

Detailed instructions with information about your browser can be found at: https://www.hotjar.com/opt-out
Further information about Hotjar Ltd. and the Hotjar tool can be found at: https://www.hotjar.com
Hotjar Ltd.'s privacy policy can be found at: https://www.hotjar.com/privacy

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider that ensures the protection of our website visitors' data and prohibits unauthorised disclosure to third parties.

13) Retargeting / Remarketing / Referral Advertising

Google Ads Remarketing

Our website uses the functions of Google Ads Remarketing; with this we advertise this website in Google search results as well as on third-party websites. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"). For this purpose, Google places a cookie in your device's browser, which automatically enables interest-based advertising by means of a pseudonymous cookie ID based on the pages you have visited.

Any further data processing only takes place if you have agreed with Google that your internet and app browsing history is linked by Google to your Google account and information from your Google account is used to personalise ads that you view on the web. In this case, if you are logged in to Google during a visit to our website, Google uses your data together with Google Analytics data to create and define target group lists for cross-device remarketing. To do this, your personal data is temporarily linked by Google with Google Analytics data in order to form target groups. The use of Google Ads Remarketing may also involve a transfer of personal data to the servers of Google LLC in the USA.

You can permanently deactivate the setting of cookies for advertising preferences by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://support.google.com/ads/answer/7395996

Alternatively, you can find out about the setting of cookies from the Digital Advertising Alliance at www.aboutads.info and make settings there. Finally, you can set your browser to inform you about the placing of cookies and to decide individually whether to accept them, or to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general. If cookies are not accepted, the functionality of our website may be restricted.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider that ensures the protection of our website visitors' data and prohibits unauthorised disclosure to third parties.

Further information and the data protection provisions regarding advertising and Google can be viewed here: https://business.safety.google/intl/de/privacy/ and https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/

Meta Pixel

This website uses the "Meta Pixel" of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Meta"). This allows the behaviour of users to be tracked after they have seen or clicked on a Facebook and/or Instagram advertisement. This process is used to evaluate the effectiveness of advertisements for statistical and market research purposes and can help to optimise future advertising measures.

The data collected is anonymous to us, meaning it provides us with no conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Meta, so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Meta can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with Meta's data use policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). You can enable Meta and its partners to place advertisements on and outside Facebook and/or Instagram. A cookie may also be stored on your computer for these purposes.

This may also involve a transfer of personal data to the servers of Meta Platforms Inc. in the USA.

To deactivate the use of cookies on your computer, you can set your internet browser so that no more cookies can be stored on your computer in the future or cookies that have already been stored are deleted. Deactivating all cookies may, however, mean that some functions on our websites can no longer be executed. You can also deactivate the use of cookies by third parties such as Meta on the following website of the Digital Advertising Alliance: https://www.aboutads.info/choices/

14) Tools and Miscellaneous

14.1 Cookie Consent Tool

This website uses a so-called "Cookie Consent Tool" to obtain effective user consent for cookies requiring consent and cookie-based applications. The "Cookie Consent Tool" is displayed to users when they access the page in the form of an interactive user interface, on which consent can be given for certain cookies and/or cookie-based applications by ticking a checkbox. By using the tool, all cookies/services requiring consent are only loaded if the respective user has given corresponding consent by ticking a checkbox. This ensures that such cookies are only placed on the respective user's device in the event of consent being given.
The tool sets technically necessary cookies to save your cookie preferences. Personal user data is generally not processed in this context.
In individual cases where personal data (such as the IP address) is processed for the purpose of storing, assigning or logging cookie settings, this is done on the basis of our legitimate interest in lawful, user-specific and user-friendly consent management for cookies and thus in a legally compliant design of our website.
Furthermore, as the controller, we are subject to the legal obligation to make the use of technically non-essential cookies dependent on the respective user's consent.
Further information about the operator and the settings options of the Cookie Consent Tool can be found directly in the corresponding user interface on our website.

14.2 Google reCAPTCHA

On this website we also use the reCAPTCHA function of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"). This function is used primarily to distinguish whether an input is made by a natural person or abusively by automated machine processing. The service includes the transmission of the IP address and, where applicable, further data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. The use of Google reCAPTCHA may also involve a transfer of personal data to the servers of Google LLC in the USA.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider that protects the data of our website visitors and prohibits disclosure to third parties.

15) Rights of the Data Subject

Applicable data protection law grants you the following data subject rights (rights of access and intervention) against the controller with regard to the processing of your personal data, whereby reference is made to the stated legal basis for the respective conditions for exercise:

  • Right of access pursuant to Art. 25 FADP
  • Right to data portability pursuant to Art. 28 FADP
  • Right to rectification pursuant to Art. 32 para. 1 FADP

16) Duration of Retention of Personal Data

The duration of retention of personal data is determined by the respective legal basis, the purpose of processing and — where applicable — additionally by the respective statutory retention period (e.g. retention periods under commercial and obligations law).

When processing personal data on the basis of express consent, the data concerned is retained until you revoke your consent.

Where statutory retention periods exist for data, this data is retained for the period prescribed by law.

In all other cases, personal data is processed for as long as you do not expressly prohibit the processing, unless we can demonstrate an overriding interest in continued processing within the meaning of Art. 31 para. 2 FADP or a legal justification.
